| This is a copy of the title page to the first edition of the Traverner's Bible. Richard Traverner was a Greek Scholar who teamed up with a couple of Lomdon booksellers to produce a revisionof the 1537 Mathew's Bible. Unfortunately his timing was bad. His version was released the same year as the Great Bible of 1539. Though his Bible never gained much popularity, Travener released sections of the Bible 10 years after and is still considered one of the fathers of the early English Bible translations. leaf size (3.75in x 5.5in) Mounted on 8.5 X 11 stock with description for landscape display. |
